Administration
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Seven Oak Middle School! We are so excited for you to be a part of the Spartan family. At Seven Oak, we say that SOK stands for Service, Optimism, and Kindness. Service means putting others first and working together to make our school and community stronger. Optimism means believing in the potential of every student and approaching challenges as opportunities to grow. Kindness means treating one another with respect, empathy, and generosity of spirit.
My name is Colin McHill, and I am honored and excited to serve as the principal of Seven Oak Middle School. I grew up in Lebanon, attended Seven Oak as a middle schooler, and graduated from Lebanon High School. My journey in education began after earning my bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Western Oregon University, followed by a master’s degree in Special Education and another in Educational Leadership and Administration. I have served as a special education teacher, case manager, activities coordinator, and dean of students at Lebanon High School, and most recently as the assistant principal here at Seven Oak before stepping into the principal role. My wife and I live in Lebanon with our two children, and in my free time I am a musician who loves to travel.
As principal, my mission is to ensure Seven Oak Middle School is a place where every student feels welcomed, valued, and supported. Our vision is to create a positive, inclusive environment where students are excited to learn, staff are proud to work, and families feel connected to our school community. We strive to be a community of care, leading with service, and meeting students where they are academically, socially, and emotionally. Middle school is a time of growth, discovery, and challenge, and we are committed to providing the structure, encouragement, and opportunities students need to thrive. This includes rigorous academics, social-emotional growth, leadership development, and experiences that allow students to explore their interests and passions. Student success is built on strong partnerships with families, so we invite you to participate in school events, share your insights, and stay connected through our ongoing communication and collaboration.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this community that shaped me. I look forward to working alongside you to ensure every Spartan is ready to succeed—not just in high school, but in life.
With pride and optimism,
Colin McHill
